Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, Shauna always had a keen interest in wine and an appetite to learn more about the industry.

Her winemaking journey formally began in 2013 when she enrolled in a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at Adelaide University. Whilst completing her studies, Shauna pursued her passion for the industry by working in hospitality and local cellar doors in the Adelaide Hills. 

During 2016, Shauna completed her first vintage at Wolf Blass as Vintage Winemaker, as part of her fourth and final year university studies. She was then appointed as a TWE Graduate Winemaker in 2017.

Shauna completed her first Penfolds vintage in 2018 and officially joined the Penfolds winemaking family in 2019 as Winemaker.

Shauna is responsible for crafting the Cellar Reserve foundation wines, Max’s Cabernet, Bin 8 and the French portfolio - working alongside the team in France. Shauna also has a special interest in white wine whilst working across the red portfolio. She is driven by finding the perfect balance between science and creativity and creating wines that speak true to their regionality.
